It was the New York State Sheep and Wool Festival last weekend. Rhinebeck for short. It’s huge and I love it.
Fiber Flame Studio were here again this year so we did that first. The projects are easy and fun. V did the wet felting and cut it up to glue onto cards again. (I’ve reproduced that activity at home with great success.) E chose one they didn’t have last year. Definitely trying it at home too! She felted wool around a tennis ball and then cut it open to get a small bowl. She reinforced it from the inside with a square of white felt and sewed a line of silver thread all the way around the top. I added a few beads for her.
After lunch, we headed to the shopping area that also houses animals.
(I seem to have focused on the llama-alpaca-vicuna family this year.)
Hot chocolate…
…fall colors…
…and we were off. The girls still don’t have the stamina to stick around until closing but V said she loved it! Guess who’s going back next year?
I love reading your comments! I will try to respond to every single one.
