Photo Monday – Rainy Day

I want to capture the beautiful colors in the trees before the leaves are all gone. I couldn’t last week because M was feeling sick and it started raining so we left. I can’t next weekend because we have activities both days. And I couldn’t this weekend because we had something Saturday and it rained most of the day Sunday. I’m going to have to try to get out there this week and I’ll have to be content with Prospect Park. It’s gorgeous but I always go there. I wanted to go all the way to Inwood this year but that’s a loooooong subway ride. Not sure I can do that on a school day.

Anyway. I wasn’t going out in the rain yesterday so I took indoor pictures. Of squashes. I went to our bedroom, close to a window. I took pictures of the squashes on the floor but I didn’t like the wood grain and white walls. The fireplace isn’t very far from the window and it’s black. I had to position myself carefully to catch only the fireplace in the background but it worked to give me the dark background I wanted.

And then, I stopped. Headed to the living room and tried for some raindrop on the windows pictures but the lights were one (and people were reading so I couldn’t just turn them off). The only spot where there was no reflection from the lights was the one window that faced away from the rain… (The black and white one is from our bedroom.)

Cross your fingers for me that I’ll be able to get foliage pictures next week! The weather forecast has four days of rain…

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?
