I know, right? I’m either a little late or way early…
I never got to take good photos of the girls in their Halloween costumes and I really wanted some. Especially of souricette 2 in her Queen of hearts costume that I created. So 10 days ago, Mr Mouse was asking me what I wanted to do for my birthday. It was a Sunday and I said I wanted to get the girls dressed up in their costumes and photograph them. It was hard work and I didn’t have the stamina to do it for long. Mr Mouse was my assistant and his job was basically to take care of souricette 2. Souricette 1 went first and just stood there. I had a few ideas of props and poses to try. And we have a great tree with a spot that could stand in for a rabbit hole. I was thinking of photoshopping my rabbit prop in there but I never did. I think I need to take a break from the photos and focus on my other creative endeavors for a bit. Balancing everything is so difficult because I have such limited time for my personal pursuits… End of parenthesis. So here are the best shots of Alice in Wonderland. All I did was crop, do a slight S curve, and tone down the yellow. Souricette’s hair was really yellow in the sunlight.
I wasn’t too concerned with getting a good shot of the costume because I just bought it. It’s not like I’m trying to show off my work…
Next up was the little souricette. She is so so hard to shoot! She will. not. stay. still. Even if you giver playing cards to do as she wishes with… The best of the bunch (only cropping and slight S curve here too).
I think indoor shots with a flash might have been good for this photo. You can’t see the red crystals I painstakingly applied to the tutu well enough in the sunlight. Maybe I’ll try again after the holiday rush is over. Maybe. In the meantime, I might put away the camera for a bit. I really really want to do some holiday crafting and baking with the girls. I know it looks like there’s plenty of time but big souricette’s birthday party is coming up and I need to focus on that first. And then, I’ll be turning what little is left of my time to my knitting and sewing. They miss me….
I love reading your comments! I will try to respond to every single one.
