Photo Monday – Around the House

Some flowers have been cropping up and if you look closely, you’ll see buds in some of the trees.  Overall though, the colors are still so muted out there…  And because I’m working on top secret projects, I have nothing to style and photograph.  So Sunday morning, I just grabbed my camera and wondered around the house looking for things to photograph.  Both girls wanted to have their picture taken…  Souricette 1 posed and smiled but then remembered that I like her to be more natural.  So she danced.

And then the sun came out and everyone wanted to go to the back yard.  So I went.  There’s so much to be found in the yard.  Apart from the flowers coming up, there’s that broken down stone barbecue that’s always a source of fascination for me.  And the big rock that has all kinds of stuff growing on it and around it.  And that rock is huge.  There is a part of it peaking out in the front yard and even in the basement!  Yes, the house is built ON the rock.  Well, it isn’t going to sink anytime soon…  That huge rock means that the trees can’t dig their roots very deep so we have a lot of roots showing through the grass.  And if you really take the time to look at them, they’re so interesting!  Lots of color and texture there.  I tried to get close but I couldn’t get as close as I’d like.  Times like these, I really wish I had a macro lens…

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?
