It’s been so long since I’ve set out specifically to take pictures! It’s been all about taking pictures of the girls (or me) in clothes I’ve made. There were the Easter pictures but that was a special event, you know? A time where anyone would think of taking pictures. Yesterday was just a day at home and I hadn’t taken the time to think of any kind of set up. Add to that the fact that I wasn’t really in the mood to direct the girls at all and I just ended up roaming the backyard taking pictures of whatever caught my eye.
First up, souricette 2. I like trying to catch her when she’s climbing up the playset. Here, she’s just getting to the top and I got her from between the slats.
Then, I got souricette 1 blowing bubbles.
We were in full sun at this point and I noticed the shadows. I feel like there isn’t anything special about this image but I love it anyway…
I had instructed Mr. Mouse to take the girls to my favorite local yarn/quilting store to get me a gift. I told him to let them pick out anything, fabric, buttons, yarn, whatever. Maybe not needles. I knew that souricette 1 would take special care to think of something I would like. Since I love pretty much everything in that store, I knew that no matter what she picked, souricette 2 wouldn’t go wrong either. Here’s my lucky mommy haul!
Those beautiful dark blue buttons are from souricette 1. I’m thinking they will be perfect for a blazer. The turquoise flowers are from souricette 2. I’m thinking of making the girls dresses or something and saving one or two buttons for me. Like that one button at the back of the neck on some blouses? Just a touch of whimsy… Souricette 2 also wanted to get me the yarn and Mr. Mouse agreed. It’s 50% silk, 50% cashmere and will become a luscious scarf for me. I just need to find the right pattern… Not pictured are the handmade cards that will go into my collection.
Happy belated Mother’s day to all moms!
