I mentioned I’d cut out the pencil skirt when I posted about my first Mabel, right? Right. Well, here it is!
I used navy blue ponte. I can’t believe how different this one looks.
Like I said before, I’m between sizes so I went with the larger one as suggested. With the first Mabel, I felt that it could stand to be a wee bit tighter so this time, I increased the side seam allowances on the skirt and waistband to 1/2″. That’s 1/2″ removed from the total circumference. It feels a little more secure that way. I think I could have gone all the way up to 5/8″ to lose a full inch but I’m comfortable.
And… I love it! I may even like it a little more than the striped one. The extra length just makes me feel a little bit more comfortable. Oh… Maybe I should try an in between length!
That skirt is so flattering. It makes me want to sew it for myself in hopes it would look that good on me!

Thank you! I think this type of skirt is flattering for most people. And the ponte I used (from Girl Charlee) is stretchy but thick enough not to show lumps.
