Photo Monday – Bronx Zoo

Guess where we went!  You only get one try…

We took the girls and my parents to the zoo on Saturday.  It was mostly a special treat for souricette 2 since she didn’t have a birthday party with friends this year. But who am I kidding?  It’s a special treat for me too.  I love the zoo.

First up, the sea lions.  We were there right before their feeding and got treated to some barking.  Or whatever you call that sound they make.

Then, we visited the birds.

But souricette 1 was obsessed with the bears.  They were all she could talk about.  So we went to see them right after lunch.  The brown bears were hiding (we saw them when we went by later) but the polar bear was “active”.  Sitting there scratching but at least not napping.

After the bears, I really wanted to take everyone on the Asia monorail.  On the way there, we saw this adorable little guy (red panda).  Don’t you just want to hug him?

I tried to get pictures while on the monorail but telephoto + monorail = blurry.  We went to see the jungle right after.  Monkeys!  I love monkeys.

Then, both girls wanted to ride the camel (dromedary, actually).  And well, I couldn’t let them go alone now, could I?

Souricette 2 was getting tired so we went home through Africa.

Finishing with my favorite.  The lions (lionesses to be exact).

They roared their goodbyes.

PS: Yes, there’s one more picture from California coming.

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?
