Photo Monday – Fall Fun

I created Photo Monday as a way to push myself to practice my photography.  If I make myself post, then I have to go out and take pictures, right?  But I’ve been so tired and uninspired.  Surely a break wouldn’t be so bad?  I so want to get better though.  Keep going even when it’s hard, right?

Sunday gave me some lovely weather.  Sunny and well, not really warm but not cold at least.  Souricette 1 had been wanting to play in the leaves.  And the girls have brand new boots that they’re completely in love with.  So boots in the leaves, right?  But no one wanted to be directed.  So I only managed this one decent shot of souricette 2’s boots.

Aren’t they the cutest?

I ended up doing what I usually do.  Let the girls play.  Try to direct them so the light hits them well and so the background isn’t awful.

Yeah, that background isn’t the best, is it?

But the light…  Fall and Winter have that going for them.  The sun is lower.

Would you believe these shots were all taken right before noon?    Yet the light hits distinctly from the side.

Love it.

I also got down low.  It’s such a simple trick but it works wonders.  And sometimes, getting down yields a fun little surprise.

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?
