Remember how I said I wanted to go for a walk in the woods last week? I did go yesterday! Mother Nature was kind enough to make it snow just so I could get pictures of winter in the woods. Or something… I got seriously snowed on! In fact, I had to hide my camera in my coat when I wasn’t taking pictures so that it wouldn’t get drenched. And I lost my phone in the snow. My white phone… Yeah, I never found it. On to the pictures…
The colors are just fascinating in the snow. The landscape is so muted, it almost feels like a black and white picture. And then, you look closely and there are all these subtle and sometimes not so subtle colors. I did not mess with color saturation in these. The color you see is the color that was there.
Oh, and you can see it in the pictures above but it’s more obvious below. Two pictures of the same stream but with different shutter speeds. In one, the snow falling looks like rain and in the other, it looks like snow. I know this pretty basic photography stuff but it still fascinates me whenever I see it in action.
And now, that I’ve had my winter walk in the woods, we can have spring, right?
