(No, still not home but I just had to find a way to get a post up for V’s birthday!)
One morning, I was talking with E (souricette 1). V wasn’t up yet. E noticed the coffee I was using. Café Grumpy. It had a frowny face on it. She asked me if the coffee made grumpy people happy. When I said that we would have to see if it worked on me, she told me I was already in a good mood. True, I said. I’m a morning person. E thought for a bit and then said, “V is an all day person.”
That’s the best description of V that I’ve ever heard. All day person. Sure, she gets angry and sad.
And she’s quite determined and stubborn. But generally, she’s sunny. All day long, she smiles, laughs, sings, talks… Man, does she talk! Never. Shuts. Up. She will be heard.
And that’s why I don’t worry that anyone will ever step all over her.
You would think that a child like that would actually step all over people instead, wouldn’t you? But inside, she has a heart of gold. When she got angry and threw her toys on the floor? I got her to happily clean up when I told her those toys would be dangerous for her baby cousin. When a child made E cry at the playground? She offered to go speak to the child.
I could talk about V all day. She’s such a surprising mix. Every single trait of hers, we can trace back to another family member. But the sum! We could never have imagined her.
So to the sunshine in my day, happy fourth birthday! I can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with this year.
I love reading your comments! I will try to respond to every single one.
