The girls take skating classes in at the LeFrak Center in Prospect Park every Saturday. I went to watch them this weekend and had about 15 minutes at the end to get some pictures before we left. There’s a little lake right next to the center.
15 minutes isn’t much to explore and get good shots but I got lucky. There was a man there who comes by to feed the swans and squirrels. He was close to me and swans that were so far away made a beeline for him (duh), bringing them right in the frame.
And then, he noticed me taking pictures so he tried to get the swans to stand tall and come closer while keeping himself out of the shot.
Those birds will come quite close! The man actually had one of the swans run after him for a bit when he left to find the squirrels. (Yeah, I’m not sure feeding the swans is such a good idea either…)
