Photo Monday – Brooklyn Heights Promenade

But mostly portraits taken on the promenade.

We actually only rarely go there.  It’s quite a walk from our neighborhood so we tend to go to Prospect Park instead.  But my parents were there for the weekend and we thought it would make for a lovely Saturday walk.

We could have taken the subway but I like how walking allows to see different neighborhoods. We’re in Park Slope and we ended up seeing a bit of Gowanus, Caroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, and DUMBO. The mood and architecture shift subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) from one neighborhood to the next. It’s fascinating.

The pictures were actually taken towards the end of the first half of our walk. We carried the girls a few times but they actually both walked (and ran) most of the 8 mile round trip (almost 13km). I’m so proud of them!

And these last two were actually taken at the Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain on the way back home. It made the return walk a little longer but the girls were willing to do it for ice cream sundaes! (As you can see from the picture of V above, they were delicious.)

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?
