I haven’t had this much fun with a photoshoot in a long time! M gave me a bouquet of unopened lilies last week and I’d been waiting for them to bloom. I put the vase in the most well lit spot (still not super well lit though) and got close with my macro lens. I started with the classic flower shot.
Then I moved in closer.
And closer. And you know what I found? Little hair like things in the petals!
How cool is that? And now that I know they’re there, I can even see them in the first picture. I just never noticed them before. In fact, it was looking through the lens that brought them to my attention.
And look at the texture here!
And the veining on the petals and buds…
This is what I was hoping for when I got this lens. Pictures that would reveal details I’d never seen before.
And maybe this enthusiasm will carry over to self portraits? Maybe?
Oh, that is so cool!! Love the fuzzy pollen texture you captured!!
