Photo Monday – Brooklyn Botanical Garden Cherry Blossoms

Last week was Spring break.  By Wednesday night, I had no energy left.  So after lunch on Thursday, I asked the girls if they wanted to go Brooklyn Botanical Garden. I didn’t think they were going to be as enthusiastic as they were!  V took the old point and shoot and I took my camera. I had the 50mm lens on but I wish I’d taken the macro too.  (And how cool might a wide angle lens be?) E showed V how to take pictures and she was the cutest thing ever with that camera!  I tried to get a picture but she moved too fast for me.  I’ll have to download what she took…

My unstated purpose was to see the cherry blossoms and see them I did! Some of them were on their way out but there were enough trees at peak bloom to interest the girls. And me.

The sky was overcast so the light was even but it also means it was this uninteresting bright grey-white color.  You can see it in the pictures.  But then again, I always have a hard time getting the sky’s blue just right.

I think I would have played with aperture a little more if the girls hadn’t been with me.  They were incredibly patient but they’re 4 and 8.  At that age, incredibly patient isn’t that long…

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?
