Little miss V! Last Summer, she finally got the hang of her balance bike and started complaining that she wanted pedals. M and I agreed that she would be ready in the Spring. Yesterday was the day we finally bought her her very first big girl bike. She was soooo excited. We even got her streamers and a bell.
Our plan was to skip the training wheels but I wanted to let her get the hang of pedaling first. So she rode her bike home with the training wheels. Then, we took her to the playground for some practice. She figured out the pedals and was riding along really well. And managed to break her streamers… M noticed she was starting to lean on her training wheels so he took them off. Cue tantrum. We promised her new streamers if she would just ride her bike. Voilà!
She’s feeling a little unsure and wants her dad right next to her to catch her when she feels like she’s losing control but she’s got it!
She has the speed and balance. All she needs is confidence.
And steering and braking practice. We are so proud of her!
I did notice something though. Someone else needs a new bike. Hers is getting small…
(I need one too. And then, family outings!)
