Saturday afternoon, we met up with my friend and her family to go to Central Park zoo. It’s small and perfect for a slow but short visit. It was hot and sunny. The bears and snow leopards were resting in the shade (but still visible). The seal was swimming lengths in his pool and the sea lions were napping in the water. The red panda was pacing in the shade. I tried so hard to get a good shot but he was moving too fast and I didn’t have a good angle.
In the rainforest pavilion though, the birds were wide awake and happy.
Actually, that last one seemed a little angry. He was squawking at everyone!
The parrots were behind a glass window and you can see the reflection on one of the pictures. Still, I’m happy with how they turned out.
Outside felt so breezy and cool after that pavilion! Even then, I would gladly have hung out in the water with the sea lions…
That first parrot photo is awesome! Looks like a good zoo to visit.

Thank you! It’s a lovely zoo. Very small so it’s perfect for a short day. The one in the Bronx is the big one and I’m not sure a single day is enough to see everything.
