Sometimes, not very often, I see something and I happen to have my camera with me or close enough. I take a picture or 10 and then, nothing happens. I might take the time to process the photos but they don’t get published. I guess I’m saving them for a rainy day or something. Well, it rained. It rained in the form of a stomach bug that felled V, then M, and finally me (E had it 10 days before V). It rained in the form of some activism that took up a lot of my time. And it rained in the form of needing some rest on a Sunday after all of this.
So I found these. E’s viola on my bed, in the sunlight (her teacher comes to our place for lessons and they go to the master bedroom because it’s quieter and gets beautiful light in the afternoon).
Lili, surprisingly cooperative (also on my bed). If she would let me take her picture some more, I would write a post about her. She’s a sweet cat. And this picture makes her look skinny.
And finally, a true Park Slope stoop. I’d been walking by everyday, loving how worn the steps were and how bright the door was. After I got my wide angle lens, I knew I could get a decent shot without having to stand in the middle of the street. I even waited for the best moment (afternoon, right before picking the girls up from school).
How pretty! I used to take more photos of things that struck my interest, until I realized that I didn’t have anything to do with them… and I never really looked at them after taking them!

Thank you! They’re good practice but they can spend months on the computer before I do anything with them.
