Photo Monday – Snowstorm

We had a bit of a snowstorm last Thursday. I love going out in snowstorms around here. As long as I’m dressed properly, they’re kinda nice. Almost no one is out and everything is hushed, a rare occurrence in the city. But I couldn’t go out and take pictures because I had the girls with me. There was just no way they would have tolerated waiting around in the wind and snow while I snapped away.

I did let them watch a movie while I shoveled the entrance and sidewalk though and I brought my camera along. The storm had calmed down a lot by then so no pretty pictures of falling snow. But snow! Quiet streets! (Rest assured I did not venture far from home. The furthest I went is about 2 or 3 houses down and you can see how close together and narrow they are.)

It’s pretty much all melted now.

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?

Winter is my favorite season, but we don’t see much of it here in Arizona! These are gorgeous- I love the way you framed the third photo!

    • This Canadian doesn’t even get enough of Winter in NYC! I like the shorter length (4-5 months is just too long) but it lacks intensity. We had the one snowstorm and now, it’s already almost all melted. It gets to be a drag because it’s too cold to do much outside but there’s no snow. So just grey and cold. In Montreal, it gets colder but then, the snow sticks around so it’s more luminous and children can actually play outside as long as they’re well dressed.
