Photo Monday – Roses Are… Orange

M gave me these beautiful roses on Valentine’s Day. We don’t do much, just little attentions. So things like. having smoked salmon for dinner (the girls adore it), me buying blue cheese just for M, and chocolate fondue for dessert. Anyway, back to the roses. The color is just gorgeous.  They’re a more golden yellow orange in the center moving to a coral orange on the outside petals. Since roses don’t have a very long lifespan, I took pictures of them as soon as we had a sunny afternoon.

I wanted to get the colors accurately but in the end, the textures were my favorite.  When you get close enough, it almost looks like a desert landscape. (It’s less apparent in these small versions but in big, you lose the rose and see the landscape. Trust me.)

And I always have some love for the little flowers that get added as filler.

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?
