The good thing about cloudy days is that I don’t feel bad for not catching the sunrise on my camera.
The girls and I went to the western side of Manhattan a lot this Summer, walking along the Hudson. I’ve been wanting to check out the East River side. I looked into the Outdoors with Kids New York City and found the Carl Schurz Park and Gracie Mansion (official residence of the NYC mayor). The house is hard to see from close because of the high fence but the surrounding park is lovely.
I had my telephoto zoom with me. I missed having it (or the macro lens) when I was on the High Line. It does such a lovely job of isolating flowers.
There was a really pretty lighthouse that I wish I could have photographed better. The angle just wasn’t quite right and I couldn’t blur the background enough to make it less distracting. The path to keep going North was being repaired so I had to give up on the lighthouse. I’m hoping to go back when the work is done and get a better angle. And light.
I love those black-eyed susans!
