Photo Monday – During Skating Class

Saturday morning, I didn’t know that M had planned a huge birthday surprise for me. I was just sad because he wasn’t there. Since I was alone with the girls, I figured I should use their skating class to go take pictures by the lake in Prospect Park. I thought taking care of the kids all weekend would mean this would be my only chance. Turns out it was indeed my only chance but not for the reason I thought. M showed up right before the end of skating classes and gave me an awesome day. He got my friends to fly in and he booked activities I’d been wanting to try for a long time. I have to hand it to him. He did such a wonderful job.

So here are the pictures I took by the lake while I was still sad. (Side note: E knew about the surprise and managed to not say anything. Impressive.) All were taken fairly close to the skating rink. The colors were already much more muted than last week and the ducks and geese were mostly hiding.

This one is my favorite. The sunlight is blowing out the top part but it also gives that plant a dreamlike quality.

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?

Beautiful! This batch of photos has a bit of a melancholy feel to it that’s fascinating. I love the reflection of the tree in the water!

    • Thank you! I think they’re reflecting how I was feeling at that moment. I thought that my husband wouldn’t be there for my birthday and was very sad about it. (The day got way WAY better!)
