Weather forecasts are frustrating. We were supposed to get a thunderstorm early Saturday afternoon with sunshine afterwards. I planned on going out after that to get pictures of flowers in that beautiful after thunderstorm light. And then nature refused to stick to the plan. The storm ended up happing during the night and then it rained all morning. Serious rain that made M delay his run. So we both wanted to go out right after lunch and since the girls can’t keep up with him, I had to take them. I had E take her camera to make it a group activity. V was in charge of finding pretty flowers and plants. We didn’t go far. Just along 6th Ave until 3rd St, up 3rd St all the way to Prospect Park and then back home.
V was happy at first. When I told her the wind was whipping the flowers around too much, she held one for me, very gently.
I made E notice the cool patterns on tree bark.
And then, I don’t know what happened. V got angry and uncooperative. Nothing was pretty or interesting. The outing didn’t last very long after that. But hey, I was surprised at the amount of pictures I took and even more surprised at how many I actually loved. I had to cut so many out to keep the number manageable.
I wanted to show some of E’s pictures but she didn’t want to upload them to the computer. She frequently took pictures of the same flowers and plants as me. It would have been fun to compare the different viewpoints. Maybe next time?
That bark is fascinating! I love the last picture- it’s very evocative.
