I took pictures on Saturday this time! The girls were attending a birthday party and I used the time for pictures. It was one of those days where I have no idea what I’m going to do. I had the 50mm lens on and I went to Prospect Park again. We were in a corner I rarely visit (the one near that traffic circle at the meeting of Prospect Park West and Prospect Park Southwest). It was bright and sunny with a lovely light breeze. We found a lovely walking trail through the trees along the Prospect Park Southwest side. The sunlight shot rays through the trees.
Looking up, the leaves looked translucent. Shadow contours were sharp.
I used the biggest opening whenever I could so some of the images are almost completely out of focus.
But the point was the light (and the shadows), not the leaves. And I actually had a blast seeing the light’s effects when looking up, down, everywhere. It’s been a while since I’ve had so much fun with my photography. I’m realizing that, as much as using the right equipment and taking your time setting up a shot is necessary, I have the most fun when I have minimal equipment and just play with what I find.
I love the play of light and shadows in the second photo!
