Yesterday was a great day for pictures. Sunny, with that beautiful Fall light and gorgeous colors in the trees. It was also race day for M. New York City marathon. We were going to see him in three places before meeting up at the end. I set my camera up as best I could to get good pictures. High ISO, small aperture, focus set to infinity. Our first stop was close to home, close to mile 7. Only M was super energetic and gave us crazy face. He wouldn’t want those pics published, trust me. I admired the trees but had no time. We had to hop on the subway to make our second stop, just before mile 17. We made it with about 15 minutes to spare but it was crowded and I couldn’t get a good angle. We only had a short walk to our last stop between miles 24 and 25, in Central Park. Even with a quick stop for smoothies, I had some time for park pictures but not enough to do a good job of it. I didn’t get a good picture of M at that stop either because people (i.e. E) got right in front of the camera as M was approaching. And then, we had to get to the other side of the park to find M after the race. I tried to get pictures on the way but again, I couldn’t take my time. It is what it is but I hope I’ll get some of that beautiful light again before the leaves all fall…

I love the way the sun is shining through the leaves in the first photo!

Me too! There’s something about the way the light hits at this time of year that makes me want to get all the sunlight pictures.
