(Just so you know, V is laughing in that picture. E is not harming her in any way, shape, or form.)
I’ve been wanting to get back to working on portraits but getting my models (i.e. kids) to cooperate is more effort than I’m able to put in most of the time. It works okay when I need pictures of something I’ve made but that’s not what I’ve been wanting to do lately. I want to do something moodier, not necessarily unsmiling faces but more dramatic lighting. I tried to get it done yesterday, using my birthday to guilt trip the girls into cooperating. They gave me about 5 minutes of being total hams, complete with weird facial expressions. Then they got into an argument with each other and stomped off.
Here’s the best of what I did manage to get, both pre and post argument (the picture of them together is pre argument, obviously).
Come to think of it, I probably just need to have my camera on hand at all times so I can catch the pictures I want right when they happen. And also go back to full set ups with dress up and props.
I love reading your comments! I will try to respond to every single one.
