I took the featured picture of my cat the other day. She was snuggling in the bed like a human, her new favorite hiding spot. She gave me a look like a teenager being woken up but her mother. I wanted her picture but, as I was snapping it, she licked her nose. The kind of image you try and try to get, taking dozens that don’t work before finally getting the one you wanted. And there I had it without even trying.
So I tried to get more of those just at the right time photos. I tried while V was making cake with her dad, focusing on the work more than I’ve ever seen. (The cake is for cake pops from the Nerdy Nummies cookbook. They will probably end up as a nailed it moment but they’ll still be cute.) M kept putting himself in the way. Fine, he was helping his daughter. He was not helping the photographer.
Then, yesterday, we had tickets to a bubble show. I wasn’t going to take pictures but they said we could. No flash. I’ve been able to get pretty good show pictures before with my ISO bumped up all the way to 6400. Only, that time, I had my telephoto lens on. This time was the 50mm so I had to crop the pictures a lot. Doesn’t help with the quality. Makes the high ISO noise more obvious. But hey, they’re in focus!
I didn’t manage to get anything as good as the cat but now, I want to do a bubble picture shoot with the girls when it gets warmer.
I love reading your comments! I will try to respond to every single one.
