Photo Monday – Around the Corner

I didn’t go very far this week. We were on an outing yesterday and I brought my camera. I had no idea what I was going to photograph until I remembered some trees I had noticed on our block. So quite literally around the corner. Their bark had caught my eye. I’ve been walking past them almost everyday since we moved here and only last week did I truly see them.

These trees… I’ve always thought they looked like they had tree leprosy. Even though I have no clue what leprosy actually looks like. It just looks like they have skin peeling off. Now that I think of it, birch trees have their bark peeling off too but I’ve never thought they looked sick. Huh.

These last two shots aren’t trees but I couldn’t resist them. There’s an artist who’s been hanging up artwork here and there in the neighborhood. All in these shades of green. I have no clue whether they got permission or not but I love seeing the pieces. They’re hung on securely but respectfully (removing the art wouldn’t cause damage).

And someone found a toy on the ground an put it on the railing in case someone were to come back for it.

It makes me so happy to see people spread beauty around like that.

Creative mommy at home to two wonderful little girls, trying to juggle family, sewing, exercise, family, knitting, photography, and did I mention family?
